It has been a rumor for quite sometime now that possibly we might see in the future some Beatles music appearing in Rock Band and/or Guitar Hero games. This rumor seems to be picking up speed and actually getting some truth behind it. Activision and MTV Games are in talks with Apple Corps (the company created by the Beatles to oversee all of their music and videos rights) to get these rock gods into their games.

I am a HUGE Beatles fan and have been since I can remember. My mom brought me up surrounded by Beatles music and they have always played a huge part in my musical tastes. Since the first time I played Guitar Hero, I knew this game would not be complete without several Beatles songs, I mean these guys opened the doors to rock music and brought a whole new revolution of music called the British Invasion along with them. America had never heard such wonderful sounds and to this day music still reflects the music brought over with the Beatles from England. Because of the Beatles we also rock gods like have the Rolling Stones, the Who, Cream and the Animals…to only name a few.

Every rock song, every pop song, even some of the rap music you hear today would be completely different if it wasn’t for the Beatles. They pioneered music as we know it, they didn’t only create wonderful musical art, they also shapped and changed they way music is recorded and even the way music is played. If any band deserves to be in a Guitar Hero game or a Rock Band game, it would be the Beatles. These rock games need a classic rock version, it’s time to show these kids who think rock music started with Nirvana who the real Legends of Rock are.

I hope these rumors continue to show truth and hope behind them…bringing in music like the Beatles would open the market for consumers even wider. Parents who were kinda interested in the game will now be unable to resist. Enough guitar games with one hit wonders, todays top rock bands and subpar songs from great bands who have better songs than the ones chosen for the game…we want the Beatles!
