‘Twas the day after Christmas… And all through the house…
All the gamers were playing with controller and mouse.
The new games were stacked by the TV with care
In hopes that more gamers soon would be there
The n00blings were gathered ’round the new PS3
Beside the blue glow of the poor unused Wii
And Becky’s DS had all the pink it could take
With a new Princess Peach and Strawberry Shortcake
When out in the den there arose such a clatter
I put down Uncharted to see what was the matter.
Away to the den I ran just like Sonic
I tripped over a box that had come from Harmonix.
The TV was giving off a warm friendly glow
And I heard a crowd cheering for what? I don’t know
When where should my wondering eyes come to land
But a a drum, guitar, mic; an entire Rockband
As I jammed to the beat of the great sounds of rock
I heard the Big Daddy from the game Bioshock
And then someone put in Heavenly Sword
The game that deserves an Academy Award
I turned and picked up the mic in my hand
I was anxious to be the lead singer of the band
They watched and they cheered as I beat every song!
I’d beaten the entire game before long!
I glanced at the systems in front of me
And wondered how lucky I could possibly be.
I ran up to my laptop to blog while they played
And to wish all my friends a Happy Gamers Day!

And a Happy Gamer’s Day to you too, Becky. I loved the little poem. Kind of feels like that around my house now a days. We have been playing Mario/Sonic and Mario Galaxy since X-Mas. And the PS3 has also gone non-stop with Resistance since family has stopped on by. The 360 is the one that sits lonely in the room except for when I get up to play *ahem* DOAX2 *ahem* … But I am eagerly awaiting Rockband myself. I love any game where I can just sing my heart out. Karaoke Revolution, anyone? But again, loved your poem.
Ricky … who followed you here from MySpace. … … … And I hope that doesn’t make me a stalker. =)

Cute! My favorite Christmas game we got was by far “Waikiki Wipeout” — it’s this little plastic surfboard that you plug into the TV and “surf” different locations (like Pipeline). We bought 3 of them and gifted some. At first, I worried that the plastic would break and tentatively said I’d “try it out.” An hour later I was still perched on the board — hooked!
Best of all, Target has ‘em for $30 a pop!
