A community of men & women who embody the next generation of pop culture
Nintendo sure is releasing some interesting games these days. If you missed my blog on WiiWare Beer Pong, you can check it out here. We can now add underage nudity, and smoking to the list of subjects Nintendo has decided to dive into!
The Moetan game for DS will serve as a study aid for Japanese to learn English. The incentives for correct answers reach up to “Maxium Risky”. Although the site for the game is in Japanese, I think it is basically strip poker. Here’s the image for “Maxium Risky” (WARNING, may be considered mature if you think anime-ish nudity is inappropriate)

Next we’ll move on to Nintendo vice #3 (that’s beer, nudity and now smoking for those that are counting). Ubisoft has teamed up with Allen Car, author of Easyway to Stop Smoking, to bring to the DS a game of the same title.
Nintendo is definately sending some mixed messages to it’s fans, and potential customers. It seems they are trying to reach out to some new audiences, but at the same time they are release games that may be offensive to their loyal fans.
What do you guys

Hey, at least it’s anti-smoking.
I can see why Nintendo is doing the beer pong. I was just having sushi with some friends and they were talking about the party they were throwing that night. You know, typical college type party - booze, music, and beer pong - and one says the the other, “Don’t forget to bring your Wii!”
I’m been out of the college party circuit for a while so I was surprised to hear this. The Wii is becoming popular among unlikely crowds and Nintendo is taking notice!
Lol, “maxium”? Wtf?
The Japanese to English game is for Japan only right? It could NEVER make it here…lol. I guess I get the non-smoking game, but it would seem a bit strange to carry a DS around with you instead of slapping on a patch!
