THIS IS A VERY SENSITIVE ISSUE!!
First off, I just want to say that I really don’t know what to make of all this except that I’m completely weirded out. I’m bringing this forward only because people who are very close to me (and myself) are fed up with a certain “religion.” Several years ago, the person, who is very close to me, went to the Church of Scientology to “check it out” out of curiosity. Up until now, they’ve continued to call, harass, and coerce him into joining them. Well, he changed his contact information (even moved) yet they’ve managed to find him.
This is a really heavy subject and I’m sure most of you are aware of “Anonymous” and their REVOLUTION. If you don’t know who they are, Let me explain. They are an internet group who have banded together to rid us of Scientology, and systematically bring them down. It started with the removal of the “Crazy Tom Cruise” video that circulated the net, including youtube. There is controversy surrounding youtube saying that they are in cahoots with the church. Anonymous believes in freedom of speech and are against censorship.
When I first heard about their cause in February, I thought it was brilliant and hilarious! Now, I believe it truly is serious business. I don’t want to get heavily into the subject as I am in no way associating myself or GEN with anything!!

I hate talking about religion or politics… those are the reasons we have war. However, I DO want to say curiosity killed the cat….
Look it up and read the articles online for yourselves. I also encourage you to check out Tory Magoo’s (a former Scientologist) videos on youtube. She was banned from the site but thousands of members from Anonymous flooded youtube with complaints to put her profile back up!
BEWARE OF CROSSING ANY GEEK… BECAUSE THEY WILL JOIN TOGETHER AND BRING YOU DOWN!!!
*NOTE: I have recently read a few comments on other threads stating that perhaps I am misinformed on some of my points. I very much welcome being educated by those who know more about this topic than I. I posted this after a friend of mine was being harassed and meant no harm toward anyone… I only want to help spread the word for people to be more aware of this topic. Please feel free to discuss. ![]()

That is freaking weird. But yeah, I hate scientology.
Eh, I’m on the “to each their own” front on this one, and all religions/cults/social groups issues. I fully support ignorance is bliss on the whole topic.
What I find most hilarious is that Scientology isn’t even a real “religion”. It is based off of the works of a man who is a science fiction writer that was just trying to make some money. It’s so terrible that even the creator himself laughs at these followers.
PS: I am digging the “V” masks in that photo.
I wish the government would go after Scientologists like they did the FLDS last week.
I know… it’s so weird. It’s a creepy/sensitive issue, and I’m all for “to each his own” thing .. but not when people are being harassed (among other things).
I just want people to be aware of this… and it’s bigger than we realize. :S
Honestly arstal, I think the government might be afraid to touch the subject… otherwise something would have been done long ago.
They’re sorta like the Illuminati … but creepier… they’re everywhere and in everything…
Can’t the same be said for Christianity?
The thing about Christians is that they don’t call people and tell them they are wife beaters if they don’t go to church…. ok, there are some weirdo Christians, but I’ve met some with more than enough common sense to say, “we have free will.”
I don’t think Christians have their fingers in as many honey pots as Scientology does… also, there are hardly any secrets in Christianity… not as many as Scientology. I mean, what do we really know about them? We know some things… but until you step foot into their world, you really won’t know.
…. and another thing… we are free to say what we want about other religions… but we are not free to speak against Scientology… not without some sort of retaliation.
I’ll probably go to jail for saying that… honestly.
P.S. I really hate talking about religion… I don’t want to rub anyone the wrong way because we should be free to do what we want when we want (as long as it’s legal).
If anyone is thinking about joining Scientology, please don’t call me… I hate solicitors.
I don’t know anything about any religions, so maybe that’s why I have a different perspective on it. It’s all secrets to me! (that and I’m tired of the crazy catholics in my city)
I can play edit comment too! No seriously, it probably depends on location. I have no idea if there are any Scientologists in Cincinnati. They are the Dianetics people right? They’re in the mall, I ignore them, the hand cream people, and the hair extensions people too. Kiosik workers don’t get any attention from me.
Hahaha…. crazy catholics are not good.
Whaaaaaaa????? They hand cream people??? Whoa, yes, dianetics, thats them.
Ever since I got attacked by a kiosk head massager guy, I try to stay clear of them. I group them all in the same category as pyramid schemers and door-to-door “magazine” sellers. (I sound like a conspiracy theorist!)
OMG… I’m a retard! I read your comment wrong… I thought you meant that the dianetics people go around putting hand cream on people!! Hahahahaha!! I was gonna say…. “sheeesh, they’re pushy!” Hahaha!
… I just stare the people down at kiosks… actually, most people are to intimidated to approach me… I use my mean exterior to my advantage!! Muahaha!
Me, too, about the masks, VampireKitten! I love V!
Ah. Religion. … … … That is all I have to say about that -_-
I got into an argument with members of Anonymous on the Attack of the Show blog when they were talking about this a month ago. I don’t respect anyone who hides behind anonymity, so I find the masks and such a silly concept.
Beyond that though, I asked them who gets to draw the line as to what religions or spiritualities are deemed “cults” or worthy of attacking. While I don’t care about Scientology, I respect the right of someone to be a Scientologist. I was told they were just attacking the actual Church itself though, not the members. Yet, on the protest day, you clearly see signs ripping on Scientology as a cult and such. I asked who has the right to determine this, and what’s to stop them from deciding other spiritualities are worthy of attack? I’m Druidic- something very ancient, yet looked down upon due to the relics of the destruction and assimilation of the Druids and their beliefs by the Christian church. Will Anonymous decide to go after Wiccans and Neo-Pagans next? It’s not their place to decide. And if they do decide this- then the Catholic church DEFINITELY needs to be taken down for its crimes throughout history.
Another of the things the Anonymous kids were telling me is that they were trying to expose the “secrets” of this secret society. I felt sad having to inform them that we have a right to have secret societies in our civilization. I can start a group and not let outsiders know what goes on in the meetings. There’s nothing illegal about having a secret society. I’m not saying a secret society can’t do something illegal- I’m just saying it in itself isn’t a crime.
I say let people choose what they wish to be- and accept them for what they are, so long as they aren’t forcing their beliefs on others, no one is harmed whatsoever!
Druidblue: I agree with you. I think people should be able to do what they want as long as no one is harmed and it isn’t illegal. I don’t think any person or group has the right to force their beliefs on anyone. There are so many wonderful cultures and rituals out there…. (I’m studying Anthropology…… it’s my job/in my heart to be tolerant and accepting!!) *lol*.
Scientologists have every right to do what they want and believe what they want…. I never had any problems with this group until they crossed the line of harassment…..
……My friend has asked them to leave him alone. He changed his phone # and moved… but they found him and still continue to call him saying that he needs “relationship” help… as a matter of fact, he received a phone call from them yesterday and about an hour ago… and they’ll call again tomorrow and next week… and he has asked them to stop. Thats where I’m creeped out.
A note to everyone: In NO WAY am I or THE GIRLS ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK associated with anything having to do with this topic. I only brought this forward so that others can be aware of whats going on right now…..
…also, the masks are a bit humorous.
I knew this was a sensitive subject… thats why I didn’t elaborate on anything. If anyone would like to know more, there is plenty of reading material available on the net.
Maybe it’s a bill collector pretending to be a scientologist! Those sneaking bastards!
There have been many misconceptions regarding the effort that has been initiated by Anonymous against the ‘Church’ of Scientology, and most of this is due to incomplete media coverage and simple ignorance as to what Scientology actually is. Most simply know it as a bunch of crazy alien worship and a fad among the Hollywood elite. It is so much
more than that, something far more dangerous and deadly.
Everyone should educate themselves regarding the history of Scientology so they can better understand the moral outrage that Anonymous and the many other opponents of the CoS have held throughout the years. Please visit the website for Operation: Clambake and join their effort against the CoS and their corruption, as well as XenuTV, which is run by outspoke critic Mark Bunker (aka Wise Beard Man) for further information.
A Foundation of Corruption
The first thing people should know regards the founder of this ‘religion’, the late L. Ron Hubbard, a science fiction writer with a dark agenda to establish his own religion for the simple sake of the money and the power it would bring him. Hubbard died a fugitive from justice. The details can be found here at Wikipedia.
Federal Crimes
Some view this as a hateful attack upon a religion. This could not be farther from the truth. Everyone has a right to worship how they like. It’s not their religious beliefs that are under attack, but the institutionalized corruption of the organization that is the ‘Church’ of Scientology. An example of this corruption can be seen upon examining the Operation: Snow White infiltration into the Federal Government.
Deaths
The most shocking and disturbing information is the hundreds of verified and known deaths at the hands of the CoS. The Unfunny Truth About Scientology and Whyaretheydead.net have disturbing presentations about the many known deaths caused by Scientology. Scientology isn’t just a cult. It’s a death cult with no regard for innocent human lives. How many more must die?
Abuse of Members
Besides their disregard for the US constitution, or any constitution for that matter, they also use and abuse their members, charging them for enlightenment and information about their own religion, much like a cult. Religion is free. Scientology is not. They destroy the freedom and livelihoods of their followers and completely alienate them from their friends and family under a concept called Disconnection where all outside ties are severed. Any members who do not get with the program are punished under something called the Rehabilitation Project Force. “These programs, known collectively as the Rehabilitation Project Force (RPF), put coerced participants through regimes of harsh physical punishment, forced self-confessions, social isolation, hard labour, and intense doctrinal study, all as part of leadership-designed efforts to regain members’ ideological commitment. The confinement that participants experience, combined with forms of physical maltreatment, intensive ideological study, and forced confessions, allows social scientists to speak of the RPF as a “brainwashing” program.” - Stephen A. Kent (Ph.D.), University of Alberta
Crushing of Dissent
Anyone who speaks out against the CoS is immediately silenced through several different means including legal action, personal attacks, threats, harassment, and as we’ve seen, even death. This is all justified by the CoS under the ‘Fair Game’ policy under which any and all dissenters are summarily destroyed and discredited as threats against the CoS. Read up on the details of the Fair Game policy as well as a related incident called Operation: Freakout.
Anonymous and the war against the CoS
Again, this is not an attack on their religion. There are splinter groups of Scientologists, such as the FreeZoners, who practice this religion free of the misuse of its members’ resources, criminal activities or crimes against humanity. Anonymous supports them and hopes to stand by them in dismantling the Church of Scientology in its present form.
South Park’s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, knew they would come under fire like never before and obscured the names of everyone involved in the production of their Scientology episode by naming them Jon or Jane Does in the credits. Anonymous remains anonymous in this fight for the same reason, in that they cannot silence whom they cannot identify, because Anonymous is everyone and no one, they are the body politick, the outraged masses who look to purge this cancer from our society. When one falls, ten more take their place.
Anonymous is not a group of rogue computer hackers or internet vigilantes. We are anyone, everyone, and no one.
Anonymous will not sit idly by while Scientology continues to defy the lawful and moral standards of society. Anonymous will take a stand. Right here. Right now. Anonymous will make it clear that we will not allow them to continue extorting their followers and to continue to harass their critics and skeptics. Together, we can put an end to the suppression. Knowledge is free. And so are you.
We are Anonymous.
We are legion.
We do not forgive.
We do not forget.
United as one.
Divided by zer0.

re: Druidblue
While all religions may be guilty of crimes committed sometime throughout history, Scientology is committing them en mass in recent history and consistently since its inception. While there may be things in present day like the adventures in pedophilia of the catholic church, such a practice is not doctrine and is looked down upon by all involved. Such a thing cannot be said for some of the things the Church of Scientology does.
For example, Operation Freakout. This was a mission carried out by the Church of Scientology to try and have author Paulette Cooper arrested, driven insane, or driven to suicide for writing a book critical of Scientology. They fabricated bomb threats using people who had similar voices, stole stationaries with her finger prints on them and wrote bombs threats. Paulette Cooper was put on trial because of this, and was very close to being put in prison for the rest of her life. Luckily, the FBI discovered this during the trial and Paulette Cooper was cleared of all charges. How did they discover this? This leads us into another operation carried out by the Church of Scientology: Operation Snow White.
Operation Snow White saw thousands from the Church of Scientology infiltrate governments all across the world, and to this day was the largest infiltration of the United States government EVER. They stole documents that were to be used as evidence against the Church, planted false documents, planted bugs in meeting rooms, tapped phones, and used their sleeper agents to influence those on the inside. This is documented in court and Scientologists went to prison over this when the FBI found out about it, including L. Ron Hubbard’s (founder of Scientology) wife. Hubbard was named an un-indicted co-conspirator in the investigation and spent the rest of his days hiding from the law.
These are just examples of Fair Game, a Church policy of destroying your enemies in any way possible. The Church prefers to use harassment in the form of hiring private investigators to follow, stalk, and harass those critical of Scientology. This is why we wear masks. Sean Carasov, one of the outed members of Anonymous, had his cat killed by the Church of Scientology goons in an effort to get a reaction from him. He reacted, and they used that reaction to file criminal charges against him. The charges were thrown out by the courts, but this is another weapon in the Church’s Fair Game arsenal. The Church has used and continues to use lawsuits to silence critics. It’s written in Church doctrine that lawsuits are to be used to harass, win or lose, to bully people into submission. Most regular folk are made bankrupt from the lawyer fees, while the Church has almost unlimited funds. Where does their money come from?
The Church bleeds its members dry by enforcing “fixed donations” for all of its services. All religions are free, except Scientology. Even if you want to leave the Church of Scientology, you can’t unless you pay for special courses to “route out”, which is a months long course whose purpose is to “coerce” you into staying, and it’s very expensive. The estimated cost of reaching the top levels of Scientology is around $350,000. The Church uses several well documented methods of brainwashing throughout its teachings and punishments, its practitioners become its victims.
Of course, if you leave the church, and are afterwords critical of it, you are labeled a Suppressive Person, or SP. This is a church policy, and those in Scientology must then Disconnect from you, or they are labeled SP as well. Disconnecting someone means you can no longer talk to them and can no longer see them. They cease to exist. I cannot count the number of families that have been shattered by this church policy.
This is getting lengthy, so I’ll only just mention Rehabilitation Project Force, and encourage that you google it. It’s a prison camp that the Church runs to punish its staff who don’t sell enough, or, you know, rape someone. The Church doesn’t report its staff to the law, it just hides them away in its very own prison camps. You asked what makes anyone able to draw the line between cult and church, now I ask you. What gives the Church of Scientology the right to be the law?
Speaking of things the Church pretends to be, it pretends to be the de facto standard in the medical community. It fails horribly in this respect. When you’re a Scientologist you are taught that illnesses are caused by bad experiences, and that they can be cured through auditing. This includes things like cancer, mental illness, and physical injury. Serious diseases go untreated because the Church denies medicine from its members. Tory Christman was denied her epilepsy medication while in service of the Church. The rabbit hole goes deeper though, and this forces me to bring up Lisa McPherson. Lisa was a Scientologist who got into a minor car accident. At the scene, she began taking off all of her clothes and saying “I need help” to the paramedics at the scene. She was taken to hospital for evaluation, but then the Scientologists showed up and took her away. They locked her up in a Church owned hotel and gave her an “Introspection Rundown”, a process of dealing with people who are experiencing “psychotic breaks”. Lisa died 17 days later, she had lost 30 pounds over this period. Lisa was denied food and water, given nothing but vitamins. She had cockroach bites all over her body and was a shell of her former self. She tried to leave during this, tried to escape, but the Scientologists followed the Church doctrine and held her captive. A recent case of this happening was just discovered in France, but that woman was lucky enough to be rescued by the police.
The crimes go on and on when it comes to Scientology, and this is why we fight. We won’t be going after any other religions unless they turn out to be as corrupt as the Church of Scientology. This isn’t about them believing in dead alien souls being stuck inside our bodies, this is about the criminal activities carried out under the guise of religion.
But don’t believe me, look it up for yourself.
“Mandy is an incredibly ignorant bag du douche. The comments so far can all be read with a bad Valley Girl accent and be nothing but improved.”
I just spit my coffee out on my keyboard laughing.
Well, at least we’ll get some hits.
@ Mandy:
@ Anonymous: thank you for the clarification. BTW, when I said “the masks are humorous,” I merely meant that they are appropriate.
…..wow and I just watched V lastnight o.0 Creepy!
Druidblue:
“[…] I asked them who gets to draw the line as to what religions or spiritualities are deemed “cults” or worthy of attacking.”
You have a very good point. It is not in our power to define what is a cult and what is not a cult. Fortunately, there is a cult checklist, created by the Congressional Research Service in 1979. Of course, Scientology checks every checkmark on the list.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_checklist
Traycee:
“we are free to say what we want about other religions… but we are not free to speak against Scientology… not without some sort of retaliation.”
This is exactly the point of why we protest.
Wow! I’ll have to digest this more and sit down when I have time to write out a decent reply. I have seen some of the more recent news articles about Scientology and it is scary.
This is certainly something to keep an eye on. Thanks, Traycee.
There is something I’d like to bring up while I’m thinking about it dealing with religion and war.
There have actually been few wars fought because of a religion. Most of them have been in the name OF a religion. This distinction may be subtle to some and obvious to others but even most of the Crusades, while sanctioned by the “Church of Rome”, were not religious wars, they were political in nature. The true Christian Faith does not condone war.
And before you reply, keep this in mind: No, I am not a Christian.
/random comment Well it is nice to see there is at least an array of opinions, thoughts, and beliefs on religion. It’s hard to have a decent discussion when everyone has tunnel-vision. / end random comment
Interesting post, Traycee. I’m not well versed on religions, cults, and anything remotely related, so this is helpful to read by both Traycee and those with information on the Anonymous. What I DO know is that what I’ve heard about Scientology seems utterly ridiculous. I think I am intrigued to read further on my own. Thanks!
jugenjury; the Catholic church has a “Just War” belief, stating that there are certain conditions when ware is acceptable. However, it is very rare.
I’m not saying the Crusades were a good thing, or anything, just pointing out the modern beliefs.
… … …
This is dangerous territory, but I completely understand where the Anonymous group is coming from. Honestly, in my eyes Scientology is a cult and I can’t even begin to imagine what they do behind closed doors (same with allot of other religions, which is why I don’t really have one). I also understand the V masks and the anonymity behind it, they are completely necessary for what they are trying to accomplish.
Thanks for all the information guys… especially the reps for Anonymous. This is dangerous territory but like I said before, I just want people to be informed. I don’t want whats happening to my friend to happen to others if I can help prevent it.
Jinxie: I agree with you, it is utterly ridiculous. You should see some of the stuff on youtube…. Scientology in general weirds me out!!
onus, good point. However, the Catholic Church as founded in the 4th century AD had absolutely nothing to do with war. The greedy, landgrabbing monarchs throughout the ages working in conjunction with the MEN who ran the church corrupted the original ideals of the church. The religion itself does not support war in any form, the men behind the religion do so for reasons that have nothing to do with the religion. There is no writing anywhere that I’m aware of where Jesus supported any type of war for any reason. In fact, just the opposite. What you are referring to is, sadly, man’s misguided interpretations based on their own personal wants and needs and not on the religion they profess to follow.
A religion should not evolve, only man’s understanding of religion does. Today’s Catholic Church is like any other organization. They do what they must to retain members. If this means adjusting opinions and reevaluating canons, that’s what they do. So now they (church leaders) can justify war in some certain situations even while their core religion is against it.
Quick Note to anyone reading this:
I’m not a reporter… and this isn’t a topic I’m reporting on (thats why I didn’t elaborate on the topic). This post was meant to spread awareness. The only reason I posted this in the first place is because someone close to me is being harassed by members of Scientology.
I mentioned Anonymous because I admire their cause… not to mention their courage to stand up for what they believe in.
I may not be as heavily informed as the members themselves, but I know enough to not want to associate myself, the GEN girls, or say anything out of line…….
New anonymous is fail, as is this travesty of an article. I mean whilst I adore late news in the slowest of slowpoke fashions, those who think that these people are anonymous are dumbasses. Honestly.
I think you know what goes into every field.
1/10
Also, for the love of God, EVERYONE has written about this and one thing you should know : When Fox news beats you to a story, it’s time to start thinking about better things to write about, like you know, things moderately intelligent people might consider reading.
- Your friendly neighborhood RavenholmLiberator
/shrugs.. I’ve never heard of them.
RavenholmLiberator:
If you read my comments above, then you would know that I’m not reporting on this topic, merely spreading awareness because of personal experiences that I have had to go through (very) recently. If I were reporting on this, I would have written on this the moment I found out about it….. which was several months ago.
There really is no need to come off as harsh.
Also, not everyone knows about this…. there are MANY people who still don’t know about this topic… and I have encountered MANY!!
RavenholmLiberator:
Just because we started getting massive international media attention in the beginning of the year doesn’t mean that any and all coverage that we get from here on is old news. Every month we will protest until the silence is broken therefore reporting on us will never be old due to our very recent activities. Traycee has done a fine job blogging about a situation that her and many others have witnessed. We expect GEN to continue their efforts to blog on our fight against the COS. We will protest again on May 10th, more news, more awareness.
Oh and Fox News was also like yourself RavenholmLiberator very misinformed about us. We are not a hate group or cyber terrorist, just merely an internet group of 10k+ that is simply spreading awareness and oh doing these things too:

You see I was anonymous once, maybe twice before, but I was smart enough to grow up and put on a smile. The new group of “anonymous” changed things.. Forever. There’s no going back now, and I have to say that if you have to go with a new face, let it not be one that is blank and green, but one with a smile.
A small video on who and what we are about…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCbKv9yiLiQ
