Could it be true? The Muppets are coming back!!!

The Jim Henson-created characters may be on their way back thanks to a new Disney Film.
In the movie, written by Forgetting Sarah Marshall star and writer Jason Segel, the Muppets reunite to save their studio with one last variety show.
Should the film go well, it opens up the possibility of a television programme, also written by 28-year-old Segel.
A source said: “Jason is a massive Muppets fan and is seen as the man to finally bring The Muppet Show back to TV.
“It will obviously have all its old fans but Jason’s comedy is hugely popular with youngsters so it will open it up to a whole new audience.”
The source added: “If the movie script is popular Jason will write the TV series too. He is already coming up with ideas for it.”
For those that aren’t familiar, Jason Segal is probably best known for his role on “How I Met Your Mother”, although he’s been in quite a few recent movies as well.

Ever since I wrote this blog this morning, I’ve had the Muppet Babies theme song stuck in my head!

First Dracula and now Muppets.
Segel + puppets = win.
Let’s just hope he doesn’t show off anything in this film. Ha!

The one and only panel that I was able to attend at Comic Con was the Fraggle Rock panel. They had the original voice of Buber as well as the original voice of Red. Red brought in the puppet and did the ENTIRE panel as … well …. Red. It was a sing along and she taught all of us “Silly People” how to sing tongue twisters.
Aside from crying like a BABY the entire time (the show is something I use to watch with my mom and I just couldn’t stop thinking about her throughout the panel) it was a fantastic experiement in pop culture. The room was absolutely packed FULL of people who’s lives were touched by these amazing puppets. Grown men and women were singing the theme song at the top of their lungs along with their kids who they had passed down the legacy to through DVD.
Muppets/Henson will never go out of style. Our generation is very strong in our love of our childhood and I think that we are all quite nastalgic. For that reason, I feel that the Muppets coming back will not only be positive for kids but for our generation who are now having kids.
