At first I was dissipointed in Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne in the new movie, in theaters October 17th. However, the more and more I see images of it, the more I feel that Max Payne as a whole has been done justice. The overall look of the movie IS Max Payne. Check out the lastest movie posters and the trailer below to see for yourself.
Based on the legendary, hard-hitting interactive video game, “Max Payne” tells the story of a maverick cop determined to track down those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. Hell-bent on revenge, his obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmare journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max (Wahlberg) is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal.

Check out Max Payne on IMDB, the cast is… interesting to say the least.

I don’t know. I seemed to think that he was a good choice to play Max. I know I had reservations when I heard the announcement, but when the first pics emerged, I was happy with how he looked in the role.

I love the casting- Wahlberg is a great actor… plus the movie looks highly stylized. It’d be hard to mess up Max Payne as a movie… the game is so unique in itself any movie should have just as much creative room for growth.

I also don’t think Mark is a bad actor… he is really good… I guess my disappointment would lie with the studios who lack the creativity to tap into unknown talent. I mean, the studios wanted Vin Diesel to portray Hellboy and Guillermo had to fight for Ron Perlman (thank freaking god Guillermo won)!
True, Vin is a disastrous actor… and I know Wahlberg will probably impress the masses… I’m hoping he pulls a Heath Ledger (as far as proving us wrong)… because Heath was the best damn Joker ever!!!
