You just got Punk’d!
I would have liked to have been at the Nikon board meeting that was the stepping stone in hiring Ashton Kutcher as the face of their COOLPIX digital cameras. “We want the line to be synonymous with youth and sophistication. Is Kelso from Dude, Where’s My Car available?”
Nikon first made the announcement to use Ashton Kutcher in television spots, print, and in an interactive internet component on March 25th. Since then, he has appeared in these commercials:
“Ashton is the perfect choice for this campaign as he embodies both the stylish and fun attributes of Nikon’s COOLPIX Style series cameras,” Lisa Baxt, senior communications manager for Nikon, Inc. said in a statement.
“I am thrilled to work with Nikon on this campaign,” Ashton says. “I think technology today represents so much more than just function — it represents personal style and sophistication”.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going on an Anti-Trucker-Hat campaign or anything. But, I just find it difficult to associate Kutcher with any technology surpassing Lite-Brite or Giga Pets.

I love the commercial, but I still can’t stand the guy.

He was just in some super high fashion magazine too (I can’t remember….) all dolled up. Maybe he’s trying to get out of the stoner mold?

He’ll always be observed as a stoner. Why else would he marry Demi Moore and then invite Bruce Willis, HER EX, to hang with them?

Because it’s Bruce Willis.
