So, some of the GEN editors have never cosplayed. Some haven’t cosplayed in quite some time. We were all thinking of getting the group together to do one super-cowabunga cosplay.
We would like to reach out to the community for ideas. Check out our ABOUT US section to see all of the girls pictures for ideas on characters. Post them here. If we cosplay YOUR ideas we will send you a group photo of the girls, a gift box from Video Games Live, Episodes 1 - 3 of “DramaCon” from Tokyopop and to top it off - a SUPER CEREAL SECRET prize (worth over $100!!)
So, get those creative juices flowing and help the GEN editors come up with their first group cosplay!

Hmm, let me see.
AKTREZ; I would probably suggest that you go as Christie from Dramacon. I know, a little obvious, but seeing as how you just got into manga, you could try her out. And while you may not be new to the con seen, I think that would just help you play the character.
ANG3L; Hmm, I don’t know. I guess with your curls, wouldn’t it be kind of fun to play with that. How about Daisy from the Mario games. I think you would be pretty cute as Daisy.
BLKCAT; I love you as Black Cat but let’s try to see you play as Firestar of the New Warriors. I saw a pic of you with reddish hair and thought that since you could play a masked character well, Firestar would work for you.
JINXIE; Okay, I will admit it, I would love to see you as the female Dr. Light. I don’t know why, but I can see you play that character well.
KANNAYA; Oh, I saw that you like Final Fantasy, and I immediately pictured you as Quistis Trepe. I mean, with some glasses, you could really pull off that look.
MADDENWIDOW; I could probably see you playing as Joanna Dark. You have the facial features that would allow you to easily play the part.
MSNARU; I was going to suggest that you go as Alice from American McGee’s version, but you all ready did so. But if you were blond, I think that you maybe could pull off Chi from Chobits. I see your pics as Naru and I see that you have the innocent cuteness to play this part.
CLARE; I am thinking of you and paintball, but for cosplay, wouldn’t it be fun to go as Samus from Metroid. I mean either in the metroid outfit or the zero suit. I think it would suit you.
RAYCHUL; You I could see as Supergirl. That blond hair and your actual physical appearance, you look like the Michael Turner version of her. So that would be my suggestion.
SCARLETT; I wish I knew more about you to make a good suggestion, but I will go off of your looks for this. Why not Penelo from Final Fantasy 12. Your face kind of gives that look that she has.
VIRTUALGIRL; Oh, I know you love Top Cow and I think you would look great as The Magdalena. You look like you could pull it off and since you like Top Cow, you are familiar with it as well.
Well, I hope that is okay with everyone. I hope I didn’t offend anyone, but that is just my opinion on how I would see you all play a character.

SuperGirl?! That’s perfect…Aktrez has actually wanted me to dress up like her before. I guess that’s 2 people who think she’s a good idea for me!
Oh and you know who does a kick ass Joanna Dark? Scarlett, she looks hot as Joanna!…man I used to have a picture of her with the Joanna look but can’t find it now.
I do like Joanna Dark but I agree with Raychul, Scarlett would do a much better job. Any characters that are with a fair/pale complexion are perfect for me. As my myspace page states I am officially the whitest person in Florida.
Have you thought about maybe doing one big group as Sailor Moon?
Good idea, rjac. I DO like swords and stuff, too. So, I’m up for whatever that has me holding a gun and/or sword of some type. As long as I don’t end up in some reject costume as Ms. Aardvark, Captain Pee Pants, etc.

DCD - I thought about an SM group! But I thought if I suggested it, they’d kill me. lol.
Honestly, I might vomit on my self if we do a SM group…LOL. That is one hard costume to pull off and look GOOD in…

She is a hero and served on some of the groups such as the Doom Patrol, The Outsiders, and even the Justice League.
Besides, Jinxie, I don’t think a beard would suit you.
Clare: Technically, you could go as yourself, as you’re a video game character from “Greg Hasting’s Paintball”. DONE!
Well MADDENWIDOW, you could always go as Anita Blake. Find a black curled wig, some tight shirt and pants, and some white face paint and you should be ready to go then.

I’d know who you are if you were Anita Blake, VG! You’d need some greay latex scarring stuff…

One more suggestion for Aktrez … you could go as Alice from the Resident Evil movie series.
Hehe, I dont think I could top some of Rjac’s suggestions. But it took me 2 hrs and multiple opinions from people in my shop hehe xD!
So here we go:
Ang3l: As soon as I started thinking ideas, yours came first. I think you could do a great Witchblade! I mean you could come up with a few ideas if you didnt want to do the whole bikini costume hehe, I know I saw a pic of her in jeans and her normal bone like top. But totally your choice hehe, not even sure if you like Witchblade =X
Aktrez: Hun..you could go as just about anything and pull it off. But here’s a few ideas I thought for you =) Nina Williams, Tina Armstrong (DOA), Ms. Marvel, and my personal choice for you is Samus Aran(Zero Suit) =)
Ms Naru: You have gone as just about everything I could think of already, but I will have to agree with Rjac, you definatly could do a great Chii ^^!
BlkCat: You we’re a bit hard to choose since I had a lot of ideas as far as Comic books go, but I wanted to go more for Anime or Games. So I thought maybe Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist or Taki from Soul Caliber =D
Jinx: Two ideas came to mind for you, Jade from Beyond Good and Evil and Jade from Mortal Kombat ^^;
Funny that it was two Jade characters hehe.
Clare: I immediatly thought of Eva from Metal Gear Solid, for you. And I couldn’t think of anything else after that for ideas lol.
Kannaya: Same with you hun, I got one idea and it stuck. I think you would make on hot Bloodrayne with your red-ish hair ^^!
MaddenWidow: I thought you would be a kick ass Jill Valentine from Resident Evil or Claire Redfield from the same =D
Scarlett: Im not sure if you still have your short hair or if its grown out, but I thought of the girl from V for Vendetta, Chell from Portal, or Alyx Vance from Half Life =)
Raychul: I thought of so many for you hun, but like Rjac said Supergirl would be top. But others include; Misa-Misa from Deathnote or Princess Daphne from Dragons Lair hehe =D
VirtualGirl: Your my fav hun, and it was hard coming up with some ideas and I may still think of some more. But I thought of Poison Ivy or Asuka from Evangelion. =D

Hey Lilith, wow your suggestions are pretty good. Aktrez as Ms. Marvel, Jinx as Jade from BGE, MaddenWidow as Jill, Scarlett as Evey, and VirtualGirl as Poison Ivy I especially can see.
In truth, I think your suggestions for Aktrez, Jinx, and Scarlett are way better than mine.

I have wanted to cosplay Poison Ivy forever! God…I have FAR to many Ideas for my own good.
VirtualGirl, you know who else I just thought of for you while redoing some of my wallpapers? What about The Huntress from DC Comics?
LOL! I get that one ALL the time! There is this DC cosplay group in MN who goes around to hospitals and stuff like that who want me to come up with a DC character. I am working on Zatanna for that, but who knows!
Ooh. Zatanna. She is actually one of my favorite characters from all of comics. When you get that one done, may I please see the pics. I promise not to glomp you. *tries to look innocent*

Hey, Perzephone, I just saw that you joined, but I got a suggestion for you. What about Lei Fang from the DOA series? I think you could pull that one off.
Atheistium, you know, since you are the website wonder, I kind of picture you as Oracle from the Batman series. Not much of a stretch, I know, but that is what I get from seeing your picture.

Okay, I know she just joined … and I don’t know if she is into cosplay or not, but who else here thinks that Traycee looks like the perfect Lady Jaye from G.I. Joe?

I’m not sure if you’re still looking for ideas but I came up with some strictly comic/superhero ideas. I know little about video games and manga so here goes.
Aktrez - actually I think you’d make a great Supergirl
Ms Naru: You look like one of the versions of Jean Grey. Take your pick from the green Phoenix or the dark Phoenix in red. You’d look great as either.
BlkCat: With your tan skin you could pull off a range of exotic females like Wonder Woman or Vixen. Sometimes artists make WW rather pasty but she is supposed to have a sort of Greek look.
Jinxie: With the right wig you could be the sultry Misty Knight (Heroes for Hire) even though her ethnicity is different. As a tv/comic/film character, there’s also Firefly’s Zoe.
Clare: I definitely see you as Rogue.
Kannaya: I think you could easily pull off Kitty Pryde from X-Men.
MaddenWidow: Marvel’s Firestar was one of my favorites as a kid. You look like the classic “Angelica” version from Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends.
Raychul: Emma Frost (I sense an X theme going on)
VirtualGirl: the new style of Batwoman is quite fierce and your hair would go well with that look.
Atheistium: ok, she’s not a very well known character but Marvel’s Crystal (once a member of the Fantastic Four) is my recommendation unless you want something more recognizable, then Poison Ivy would do well too.
Jenula: DC’s Raven, most often known from Teen Titans, she’s really hot after her teen years.
Perzephone: Psylocke (also from X-Men), she’s always a fan favorite in cosplay
