I got glomped at Expo back in May, it was definitely an… interesting experience. I was in a group Glee cosplay with some friends, and we’d stood to take some group shots on the grass outside the convention center, some photos involving our ‘Glee Hugs’ signs. I was holding the ‘Hugs’ part of the sign, and not even paying attention as we set up for our next shot, and this dude just literally sprinted across the grass and slammed into me in a tackle-hug. I was just like O_O

I’ve got no problem with hugs, hugs are brilliant. Just ask first

The first Animecon is the one you always remember, right? Well, it was even more of a mark in my memory when something went wrong. I was cosplaying as Lenalee Lee from D. Gray-Man at Anime Banzai. Things were going all fine and dandy, me and my friends were taking lots of pictures, glomping people, just having a great time. I remember it like it was an hour ago. I just asked an Uchiha Sasuke cosplayer if I could glomp him. He kindly agreed and I stepped back. I started running and leaped. He caught me perfectly, but a large “RIPP” was heard immedeatly. He set me down, and I thanked him. I knew something was wrong, but didn’t want to check in front of him, so I took one of my friends to the restroom. It turned out, when he caught me the force on my back ripped my uniform top all the way to the collar! It was horrifying! Luckly, one of my friends brought a sewing kit and happily fixed it for me! I was really lucky that day. Without that little thought to bring something “just in case” saved my costume! If you ever think “Maybe I should bring this…” do it! It will save someone!
