We all know there is a certain style to anime characters, especially the cute girls with the BIG, shiny-sexy eyes that you just wanna gaze into. These eyes are not realistic for most humans beings, unless a person got one hell of a plastic surgery job. Our cosplaying and cuteness prayers have been answered. Companies like Geo and Dueba have started creating wider lenses that give the wearer that unique anime eye look.

While I don’t claim to be a fashion expert, I know a thing or two about style. The designer in me (or cosplayer) has me regularly storing and compartmentalizing details about character design, costumes and even the hairstyles found in many of the games I play. Recently – when staring at the cover art for Metal Gear Solid 4 – I began to question how Snake managed to get away with such a dated haircut for so long. The query resulted in a wild goose chase to track down some of the most extreme hairstyles found in video-game history.
