Sorting through the comments on the Aspen forums left for Michael in the wake of his passing, I still find them a bit bizarre to read – knowing what they imply. How can Michael Turner be gone? I sit in my office every day – which is entirely dedicated to his work – and ask myself that same question. How can the man who created such beauty be gone?
When Aktrez passed along word that Michael had lost his battle with cancer, I sort of shut down about the topic. Surprisingly for someone as vocal as I am – I did not blog about it or mention it in any articles. The extent of my outward grief was an updated caption on a MySpace photo. Now that some time has passed, my thoughts and feelings about the situation have become a bit more solid – more tangible. While it is still very difficult to imagine a world without Michael’s unique sense of beauty – I know that Aspen MLT is in good hands and will continue on to thrive in his honor. However, many Aspen fanatics have voiced concern about how the company plans on approaching business without their beloved founder. Recently, the folks over at Newsarama voiced those concerns in an interview with Vince Hernandez – the Editor-in-Chief of Aspen Comics. So what is the status of Aspen Comics? What can we expect in the future? Read on to find out.

As a fan of The Witchblade, The Darkness and The Angelus – this print has me a bit giddy. Except for the fact that it reminds me that one of these lovely individuals IS GOING TO DIE!!! Sad…
